Job Description
The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society is implementing a Food security and livelihoods project in Gokwe District focusing on revamping food and agricultural systems negatively impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic. The Field Assistant will provide support to the Field Officer in rolling out economic strengthening and livelihood linked activities in selected wards within Gokwe District.
Duties and Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities:
• Support Field Officer to carry out transparent beneficiary selection as per criteria in close coordination with other team members, local authorities, communities and humanitarian agencies working in the area.
• Support Field Officer in organizing the activities of the project including target area selection, beneficiary selection, inputs distribution, stock management, documentation, reporting etc.
• Support Field Officer in organizing training to selected beneficiaries.
• Keep record of all required documents related to the project, beneficiary selection, distribution and post distribution monitoring.
• Participate and actively contribute to any Food security assessments in the area
• Support Field Officer to update beneficiary tracking sheet/ database after each distribution carried out.
Other Responsibilities
• Actively work towards the achievement of the National Society Strategic Goals.
• Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross Fundamental principles
• Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
A minimum of a Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institution of learning.
Experience
• 2 years of relevant experience in community development focusing on sustainable livelihood approaches.
• The incumbent must demonstrate experience of working with communities in the development of agriculture and livelihood improvement projects.
• Familiarity with the humanitarian sector, distributions and cash and voucher programming.
