We are seeking a strategic hands-on leader to oversee day to day feed mill operations with a focus on efficiency, quality, safety and continuous improvement. The role will drive alignment between feed mill production goals, business priorities, manage key performance indicators and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory compliance. The Feed Mill Executive will play a critical role in operational readiness, workforce management and cross functional collaboration. Position will be based in Zimbabwe, Harare.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Production
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, quality and profitability of the feed mill process.
• Manage Key Performance Indicators across operational areas ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
2. Financial oversight
• Ensure effective financial management including (CAPEX, OPEX, Company Assets) cost control and financial reporting to support the overall financial health of the feed mill division.
3. Leadership and Management
• Lead and manage teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and collaboration.
4. Raw Materials Procurement
• As part of the procurement committee, guide and maintain a strategic approach to raw material procurement, ensuring best quality and best price.
5. Quality Assurance
• Ensure that all feed mill operations meet company's standards and best practices, maintaining focus on quality and efficiency.
6. Innovation and Improvement
• Lead initiatives for continuous innovation in production processes, technology and product quality.
7. Risk Management
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with feed production supply chain and regulatory compliance.
8. Collaboration
• Work closely with other Departments to ensure seamless supply of products.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Technical - Strong technical skills.
2. Leadership skills - Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment as well as managing complex projects.
3. Problem solving abilities - Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
4.Communication skills
Excellent verbal and written
communication skills for effective collaboration with other senior leaders and stakeholders.
5. Analytical skills- Proficient in analyzing data, interpreting trends and making data driven decisions.
6. A degree in Agriculture, Engineering or related field, combined with extensive experience in an animal feed manufacturing
environment.
7. Knowledge of animal feed production processes and quality control standards.
8. Familiarity with capital planning and operational budgeting.
