Job Description

FARM MANAGER - CONTRACT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the
above-mentioned position on a three-year fixed term contract. The incumbent will report
to the Operations Manager and will be based at Amajuba Plantation in Guruve.

Duties and Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
 Plans and manages operations activities at the farm.
 Manages farm machinery including irrigation infrastructure.
 Prepares for farming season and crop production.
 Prepares cash flow projections.
 Prepares gross margin budgets and enterprise trackers
 Review and sign-off financial statements for the farm.
 Establish markets for farm produce in liaison with the Sales Representative.
 Adheres to and ensures adherence to safety, health and environment regulations and
standard procedures.
 Conducts risk assessment and mitigation.
 Performs any other work-related duties as assigned by the Superior.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 5 'O' levels including English Language and Mathematics/ Accounts.
 Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent
 At least 5 years’ relevant experience in banana and horticulture crops production.
 Class 3 Motorcycle licence.

 Hands on farm management and farming business accounting skills.
 High degree of honesty and accuracy.
 Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
 Good human resources skills.
 Good communication, interpersonal, team management and supervisory skills.
 Excellent documentation and accuracy at figures.
 Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
 Computer skills/knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
