Duties and Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Ensures produce is available according to agreed production plan in allotted time.
2. Ensures produce quality according to internal quality standards.
3. Recruits and registers out growers/wild collectors on innovative organic farming and develops the production areas according to the internal production procedures and organic standards.
4. Undertakes on farm risk assessment, inspection and evaluation for conformity to organic standards. Accountable for quality and quantity of produce meeting standards in allocated area to ensure the viability and reputation of the organisation
5. Trains, mentors and provides out growers/wild collectors with on farm organic standards and rules, advises on production techniques and ensures application and adherence to the rules according to certification requirements.
6. Makes production estimates based on the ability of the grower/wild collector and publishes estimate, eradicates parallel production.
7. Establishes demonstration plots in all areas and enables contact farmer in charge to cultivate all possible herbs on this plot for training of out growers and assessing of cultivation potential.
8. Ensures produce is transported to factory according to standards.
9. Implements financial procedures.
10. Ensures continuous cycle of review for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
• Degree in Agriculture or similar
• 5 years work experience, at least 2 years as an extension officer
• Experience in certification
