Job Description
Hwange Colliery Company Limited, the leading producer of coal and coke in the country has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Exploration Geologist. The position reports to the Chief Geologist. Applicants are invited from persons who meet the following minimum qualifications: -
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas
• Production and implementation of exploration drilling programs. O Logging of all recovered core and chips lithological, structurally and geotechnically.
• Production of accurate structural and stratigraphic models through detailed geological studies and field mapping.
• Sampling of core or chips and submission of samples to the laboratory. O Coal / Mineral resource quantification in target areas.
• Supervision of drilling staff.
• Adherence to various SHEQ regulations and requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Job Specification
• BSc. Degree in Geology
• Two years post qualification experience in coal geology
• Highly computer literate and familiar with GIS and mining software like QGIS, and SURPAC respectively.
• Clean Class 4 driver's licence an added advantage.
