Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following posts.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Preparation official accounts in line with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS)
• Preparation of monthly budget performance statements For consideration by Council.
• Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements.
• Inter account reconciliations.
• Assist in preparation of council budgets and budget implementation.
• Preparation of general ledger, Supplier and customer journals.
• Checking of payment vouchers for validity, accuracy and compliance with procurement regulations before processing payments
• Maintenance of departmental commitment register.
• Supervision of departmental subordinates.
• To keep all Council Financial books up to date
• Control income and expenditure
• Co-ordinating budget formulation
• Lead financial management reforms towards best practice in Local Governance
• Provide dynamic leadership in the District and leveraging resources towards effective service delivery
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• A relevant Finance and Accounting degree
• A professional qualification and master's degree is an added advantage
• Knowledge of computer accounting packages a must (Knowledge of Evolution Accounting software an added advantage)
• At least 2 years post qualification experience in the middle management accounting position. Local government experience is an added advantage.
• A clean criminal record and a citizen of Zimbabwe.
• Drivers Licence class 4
