Job Description

A well established freight, forwarding and customs clearing concern with branches nationally is looking for a vibrant, talented and motivated individual to fill the post of Estimator. The position will be based in Harare and will be entirely responsible for the Zimbabwean operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESULT AREAS
• The sales estimator is responsible for compiling and sending quotations to clients based on their requirements (within given guidelines) • Liaising with other service providers such as shipping lines, transporters, airlines for competitive rates. • Coordinating with other offices within the group for competitive rates and other services required by clients • To prepare accurate quotations for the clients as per their requirements timeously, • Building relationships with key stakeholders • Advises clients on the best options for moving their cargo as well as regulatory requirements • Assist servicing / sales team, and constantly follow up on the success of securing the new clients as well as ensuring satisfied service to existing customers. • Ensuring all appropriate rates / incoterms and rules are applied when producing a freight estimate. • Attending to client’s enquiries and queries • Preparing monthly reports as required by management

Qualifications and Experience

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
• Advanced numerical skills • Ability to work under pressure • Ability to deal with complex situations and solve problems as they arise • Should be able to work well with other team members for the smooth movement of client’s cargo • Advanced MS office application skills • Ability to communicate at all levels
MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS:
• Degree in logistics and supply chain management • Minimum 3-years Freight Estimates experience in Air, Road and Sea Freight • Excellent understanding of Inco Terms and Rules
