Job Description


We are looking for vibrant and dynamic individuals to fill the above position.

Reporting to the National Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the daily planning, organisation, supervision and administration of all livestock activities. This includes organising sales and purchases of raw materials, livestock, farm equipment, preparing budgets and reports and ensuring maximum profit.

Duties and Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities
The incumbent’s key responsibilities shall include but not limited to: -

• Responsible for the daily running of farms producing livestock products.
• Preparation of capital, revenue and expenditure budgets and monitoring these in order to ensure that operations are within the budgeted framework.
• Reviewing actual business performance against stated objectives daily, weekly, monthly and annually.
• Recording information, such as production, livestock farm management practices, and parent stock, and preparing financial and operational reports.
• Overall responsibility for efficient running, cleanliness and upkeep of livestock enterprises to required standards.
• Quality control of all aspects of facilities including health and safety, quality and best practice guidelines.
• Ensuring that the operating equipment in use is maintained and can be used/operated at all times in line with applicable standards.
• Caring and raising livestock for the production of meat and other animal products.
• In charge of breeding and raising livestock and keeping them in optimum physical health and maintain accurate records in accordance with the authority’s policies.
• Ensuring good animal health is maintained through provision of adequate quality and quantity of pasture and other feed.
• Drawing up budget plans and maintaining records of the day-to-day operations of the farm.
• Authorizing requisitions or purchases supplies and equipment to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
• Supervising employees in charge of livestock production and oversee daily operations.
• Hiring, discharging, transferring, and promoting farm workers, enforcing safety regulations, and interpreting and implementing policies.
• Ensuring effective utilization of human resources by training, motivating, retaining and ensuring the welfare of staff and that staff remains dedicated to outstanding performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Science/Livestock Science or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years hands on experience in managing Livestock Farm Operations.
• Must demonstrate technical competence.
