Job Description

Applications are invited for the following senior positions that have arisen in the University:-

Engineering Workshop Technician (1Post)

The Workshop Technician reports to the Chairperson of the Agricultural Engineering and Technology Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assisting final year Agricultural Engineering students with their Design & Make Projects
• Preparing schedules for purchase of materials for fabrication of prototype gadgets
• Assisting Academic staff with research in Agricultural Engineering
• Maintaining of workshop machinery such as drilling machines, milling machines, lathe grinders and presses
• Welding, machining and fabrication
• Carrying out preventive and scheduled maintenance, and safety responsibilities
• Workshop housekeeping
• Performing any other related duty as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience


Applicants should possess at least five (5) O’ level passes including English Language and
Mathematics and a relevant National/ Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting and Machining and at least two (2) years post qualification experience. The candidate should have a high level of computer literacy.
