Job Description
Suitably qualified, experienced and motivated professionals are invited to apply for the following vacant post that has arisen in the Zimbabwe Open University.
Electrician (Contract Basis) (2 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Carrying out electrical installations, repairs and maintenance in buildings;
• Estimating electrical materials for construction sites and maintenance;
• Installing electrical apparatus;
• Ensuring compliance with electrical codes;
• Interpreting building drawings;
• Adhering to and ensuring adherences to safety, health and environment regulations and standard procedures; and
• Perform any other work-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Core Competences
• Ability to read and interpret Civil Engineering working drawings;
• Good understanding of electrical codes and practices;
• Risk management skills; and
• Good interpersonal skills.
Qualifications and Work experience
• Electrician Class Two (2) Certificate;
• Two (2) years’ experience in construction projects.
