Job Description

Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board (ZNBWCB) is a statutory body that oversees the development and promotion of boxing, wrestling and related activities in Zimbabwe. ZNBWCB is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacant position:

Driver/Messenger
Reporting to: Administration Manager

Responsible for dropping and picking up staff, collecting and delivering various packages, and maintaining a travel log to record work hours, travel-time and locations travelled to. Should also be able to perform routine checks on the ZNBWCB’s vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
• Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations
• Fulfil administrative needs, like office pickups, collect payments, letters and issue receipts
• Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays
• Use navigation applications to determine the best route
• Interact with clients professionally at all times
• Ensure that the vehicle is always fuelled and ready for use
• Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues
• Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date
• Assist clients with loading and unloading their luggage
• Any other duties assigned by management
• Safely transporting company staff as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
• Assisting with the loading and offloading of staff luggage, products, and materials.
• Keeping the entity’s vehicles clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning and vehicle maintenance.
• Providing accurate time records of the company vehicles’ coming and goings.
• Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
• Familiarity with GPS devices
• Knowledge of area roads and neighbourhoods
• Class 2 Driver's Licence, Defensive Driving/Retest, 5 'O' Levels
• Three years experience
