Job Description

Position:​Driver X2
A local NGO in Manicaland is seeking for an experienced Driver to transport program personnel and other authorised passengers.

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent should be capable of executing the following duties:
• Transports authorized programme staff and passengers on field visits, trainings, delivery of project commodities to sites
• Assists in preparing service delivery facilities e.g., pitching of tents and setting up of equipment.
• Sorting, dispatching incoming and outgoing mail.
• Assist on procurement and other administration errands.
• Operating the vehicle in compliance to company and national rules and regulations.
• Reporting any incident, accidents or injuries immediately to the respective authority
• Maintain and update vehicle log book at all times.
• Requests for vehicle servicing when due and ensures and reports on roadworthiness.
• Ensures project vehicles are checked daily for cleanliness’ and road worthiness.
• Undertakes regular re-fuelling and checking oil, water, and tyre conditions.
• Ensuring that the vehicle has the necessary accessory tools as should be equipped, e.g, jack, and wheel spanner and spare wheel.

• At least 5 Ordinary levels.
• Minimum of clean class 4 driver’s License.
• At least 5 years’ driving experience.
• Defensive Driver’s license.
• Must be 40 years and above.
• Medical certificate is an added advantage.
• Driving retest is an added advantage.
• Basic Motor Vehicle Mechanic course is an added advantage.
• First Aid Course and with proven experience in First Aid management is an advantage.
