Job Description
The Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods between designated locations while ensuring timely deliveries and strict adherence to traffic laws and company standard operating procedures. The role involves vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate delivery records, supporting loading and offloading activities, and ensuring the vehicle is always in good working condition. The Driver plays a key role in upholding the company’s service standards, contributing to efficient logistics operations, and representing the company professionally during all deliveries and customer interactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles to transport staff, goods, and other items as required.
Ensure timely delivery and collection according to schedules.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights, etc.).
Report any vehicle faults, accidents, or incidents immediately to management.
Keep the vehicle clean, polished, and in good working condition at all times.
Ensure all vehicle documents (insurance, registration, logbook) are valid and always kept in the vehicle.
Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and fuel usage reports.
Follow assigned routes and adapt to traffic or road conditions when necessary.
Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and traffic regulations.
Assist with loading and offloading of goods when required.
Qualifications and Experience
Valid driver’s license.
Clean driving record with no serious offences.
At least 5 years’ proven driving experience in reputable company.
Good knowledge of local routes, road networks, and traffic regulations.
Ability to work long hours, weekends, or after hours when needed.
Good communication skills and professional conduct.
Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
