Job Description
Trans Smart Trust is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting staff, materials, and equipment to various locations across Zimbabwe, ensuring that all journeys are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Safely transport Trans Smart Trust staff, program participants, and goods to various destinations, including field sites, meetings, and events.
• Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition at all times.
• Conduct regular checks and maintenance of the vehicle, including oil, fuel, brakes, tires, and other essential components.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any maintenance or repair work carried out.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and organizational guidelines to ensure the safety of passengers and goods.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the Program Manager immediately.
• Assist with other logistical tasks as needed, including running errands and delivering documents.
Qualifications and Experience
• A valid Zimbabwean driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• At least 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an NGO or similar organization.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic repair skills.
• Familiarity with routes across Zimbabwe, especially in Manicaland and rural areas.
• Ability to read and follow maps and GPS systems.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to adhere to schedules.
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
• Experience working in an environment focused on HIV and SRHR services or with vulnerable populations is an added advantage.
