1 x DRAUGHTSMAN
Mutare-based leading manufacturer and distributor in FMCG seeks a qualified Draughtsman to join its dynamic Projects team.
Job Purpose
To design and draw plans for structures, civil works and machines in accordance with specifications to meet project requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Technical, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
❖ Analysing building and machinery specifications, codes and sites.
❖ Creating technical drawings from engineers’/architects’ sketches and specifications.
❖ Using AutoCAD to produce detailed drawings with precise measurements, calculations and construction details.
❖ Entering CAD data into engineering information modelling (EIM) systems to create 3-D models and renderings.
❖ Preparing drawings, charts and records using CAD and conventional drafting techniques.
❖ Visiting construction/project sites to take measurements and verify dimensions.
❖ Following specifications and calculations; performing materials and weight-limit computations.
❖ Collaborating with engineers/technicians; preparing, reviewing and redrafting as required to ensure compliance with engineering regulations.
❖ Proactively identifying and communicating potential design problems.
❖ Generating and submitting daily, weekly and monthly reports on drafting equipment and maintaining all drawing records/documentation.
❖ Adhering to Safety, Health and Environmental regulations; maintaining good housekeeping and reporting hazards.
Qualifications and Experience
❖ Education: At least 5 O’ Levels including Mathematics/Science and English.
❖ Post-School Qualification: Certificate in Drafting; apprentice trained; experience in computer-aided design and drafting (AutoCAD).
❖ Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in an engineering draughting or related field.
❖ Attributes: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet standards and deadlines, good communication and teamwork skills.
