Reporting to: Documentation and Communications Coordinator
Organizational Summary: FACT Zimbabwe is a Christian organisation that was established in 1987 as the first AIDS serving organisation in Zimbabwe. Based in Mutare, Manicaland Province, FACT Zimbabwe is implementing various projects across Zimbabwe which aim to realise “Healthy Communities for A Healthy Nation.”
Purpose of the position: The incumbent should be ready to support the organisations documentation and communication prospects which focuses on amplifying FACT Zimbabwe’s work through monitoring, evaluation, research; documentation and reporting of programmes. The Documentation and Communications Intern will be based in Mutare with field travel across FACT programme geographical areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities:
• Write blog posts, bullets, success stories and other content as assigned, including press releases and targeted emails.
• Assist with weekly social media content creation and posting.
• Daily tracking and updating of social media platforms
• Help with outreach to partners and provide other support as assigned.
• In line with COVID-19 guidelines, provide event support for FACT Zimbabwe staff and document events
• Attend meetings as part of the communications team for status updates, project planning, and other purposes.
• Support programme staff on effective and efficient documentation and communication methods.
• Perform administrative tasks such as requesting for procurement of communications materials, reconciliations, distribution of communications etc.
• Organising and scheduling both physical and virtual meetings.
• Guiding project staff and suppliers on the FACT Zimbabwe branding and marking strategy

Qualifications and Experience

Skill and Attributes
• Basic understanding of the Microsoft Office package, Adobe Creative Suite of Corel Draw
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Social media management and conversant with virtual communication platforms. (ZOOM, Google Meets)
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Photography and videography skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Positive attitude and initiative.
• Experience working with a diverse range of people or can demonstrate how you can understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures.
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive team player.
• Pending COVID-19 safety guidelines, a willingness to travel within districts and provinces where FACT Zimbabwe is implementing, some of which may fall during evenings and on weekends.
Qualifications and experience
• Recent graduate or current enrolment in a university/college with a focus in communication, journalism, English, public relations, or related area.
• Previous internship experience in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
