Job Description

Save the Children International is looking to employ a District Team Leader - Beitbridge

Location: Beitbridge

Contract Duration: 19 Months.

We employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise the right of children and to ensure their voices are heard.

Violence against children is no longer tolerated

Duties and Responsibilities

The District Team Leader will oversee the implementation of Food Security and Livelihoods projects at District Level. He/she will have direct responsibility for the district project team, reporting to the Project Manager. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the projects are delivered on time and within the budget and will be responsible for all coordination with other actors including interactions with other Save the Children projects and teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

University Degree in Agriculture.

At least 5 years or substantial experience working in humanitarian context.
Proven project management experience.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision from the Line Manager.
Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
Substantial people and programme management experience with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
Ability to produce high quality reports.
Fluency in written and spoken English and computer literate.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
Ability to manage a high workload and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable

Fluency in written and spoken English and computer literate.
Cash transfer programming experience.
Fluency in Ndebele.
