Job Description

Bantwana Zimbabwe (BZ) is seeking experienced candidate(s) for the role of District GBV and Parenting Assistant(s) for a USAID-funded project to reduce the vulnerability of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) to HIV and GBV. BZ is a leader in the development of high quality, comprehensive OVC service delivery in high HIV prevalence districts in Zimbabwe. BZ brings a significant track record of excellence and innovation in improving access to and quality of integrated OVC care and support, with a particular focus on strengthening coordination and layering of care, protection and support services across the HIV continuum of response, for vulnerable children and their caregivers at community, district, provincial and national levels.
The District GBV and Parenting Assistant(s) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of all GBV and Parenting aspects of the OVC program. The role is critical in coordinating improvements and uptake of GBV and HIV services among OVCs and AGYW leading to HIV/GBV/VAC reduction, positive parenting, uptake in HTS services, adherence and viral load suppression

Duties and Responsibilities

Design, implement and monitor sound technical strategies and interventions targeting OVCs.
Lead in the implementation of GBV and parenting interventions under the Safe domain.
Supervise and coordinate activities of community cadres in the safe domain.
Work with the Department of Social Welfare and other stakeholders in providing comprehensive case management services, ensuring the child’s future safety, wellness and general welfare risks are managed.
Ensure quality services are provided and minimum standards are maintained guided by the standard operating procedures.
Play an active and committed role in embedding the national and international approaches to safeguarding and strengthening the consistency and quality of BZ approaches.
Support the effective implementation of program activities including the development of work plans and timely reporting
Ensure accurate records of all correspondence & activities are maintained, including individual case records, in accordance with the case management protocol.

Qualifications and Experience

At least a Degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Social Science or related field.
A counselling qualification will be an added advantage.
At least two years of experience working in an NGO.
Experience with GBV and parenting interventions for OVCs/AGYW preferred.
Relevant experience in documentation, reporting and records management is a requirement.
Excellent writing skills.
Good communication skills and ability to communicate in the local and national languages.
Computer skills with expertise in PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
