Job Description

The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) was established by the Traffic Safety Council Act (chapter 13:17) and became operational in August 2000. The Council has a mandate to promote road safety in terms of the Traffic Safety Council Act (Chapter 13:17) largely through education, training and influencing policy makers to come up with laws and regulations towards the same goal.The Council seeks to engage a dynamic individual to fill in the position of Director Operations which has arisen.

Profile
Reporting to the Managing Director the position exist to lead the operations of the organization to ensure that the organisation comply with TSCZ's mandate as promulgated by the Act and that the requisite products and services are provided accordingly and in line with international best practice for road safety services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Outputs
1.Contribution to Strategic Direction- Contribute to the development and implementation of the operations strategies according to the organisational goals and objectives aimed at accelerating growth.
2.Budgeting and Cost Control- oversees the formulation and compilation of the Operations divisions budget and institutes budgetary controls to ensure that all expected expenditures are well planned for.
3.Operations Management- ensures the safety of road users through the development of strategies and plans designed to disseminate information on road safety to the public and ensure approval by the Managing Director.
4.Stakeholder Engagement- manages and co-ordinates stakeholders on areas of mutual interest in order to create fruitful relationships that contribute to Road safety policies.
5.Research and Stakeholder Awareness —researches on best practice, disseminates the same to the relevant stakeholders and lobbies viable programmes to drive the mandate of the institution.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifying Requirements
1. Degree in business studies or equivalent/ Operations Management/Social Sciences and Education |Master's in Strategic Management/Operations Management is an added advantage I Experience in the Transport Management sector will be an added advantage.
2. (Seven) 7 — 10 years' experience, 5 years' experience at senior managerial level.
