The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) is the largest and comprehensive Open & Distance e- Learning (ODeL) university in Zimbabwe that offers lifelong learning in an affordable and flexible manner.
Suitably qualified, experienced and motivated candidates are invited to apply for the following vacant position that has arisen in the Zimbabwe Open University.

• Developing, articulating and implementing a vision and strategy for the ZOU Graduate School of Business that clearly sets out its contribution to the achievement of the Faculty of Commerce and the University Strategic Plans;
• Serving as a member of the Faculty Management Team and chairing meetings of the ZOU Graduate School of Business Executive Committee;
• Representing the ZOU Graduate School of Business on appropriate University Committees and other bodies as required;
• Promoting proper and acceptable standards of teaching, learning and research in the ZOU Graduate School of Business;
• Encouraging and coordinating high quality and market-led postgraduate programme portfolio innovation and development;
• Increasing domestic and international postgraduate student recruitment to degree programmes offered by the ZOU Graduate School of Business;
• Initiating and promoting innovation (including patents and copyrights), industrialisation and commercialisation;
• Mobilising resources for the Faculty and University;
• Creating and maintaining linkages and relationships with external stakeholders that is industry and commerce, professional boards etc. for the benefit of students, staff, Faculty and the University as a whole;
Implementing ZOU Graduate School of Business policy as determined by the Executive Committee of the School and other University authorities and be responsible for the dayto-day administration of the School;
• Making recommendations with respect to tenure, promotion, advancement and
disciplining of academic staff within the ZOU Graduate School of Business; and • Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned by the Dean.
• A minimum of an earned Doctorate in any business discipline such as Accounting, Auditing, Banking, Economics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Business Management, Business Leadership, Business Administration, Corporate Governance and Marketing or closely related discipline;
• Master’s Degree in any one of the business fields in 1 or closely related discipline is a requirement;
• Bachelor’s Degree in any one of the business fields in 1 or closely related discipline is a requirement;
• Professorship in any of the areas indicated in 1 above or closely related discipline would be an added advantage;
• A minimum of five years teaching experience in an institution of Higher Learning is a requirement;
• Knowledge of distance education would be an added advantage; • Computer literacy a must.
