Under the general direction of the Workshop Manager, the artisan will be responsible for ensuring that the business unit’s fleet is maintained at 100% productivity and availability for all user departments. This will be achieved by performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, scheduled/planned servicing, repairs, rebuilds, and attending to breakdowns in accordance with written procedures and/or verbal instructions.
The artisan is expected to consistently adhere to all Company safety and quality standards while executing duties. The role also includes performing any other tasks assigned by the Assistant Workshop Manager
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform component repairs in line with manuals, factory specifications, and knowledge of engine performance, using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Carry out routine, preventative, and planned maintenance within the assigned area, ensuring 100% compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Respond to breakdowns immediately and complete repairs within the allocated time frame, ensuring zero re-work and strict adherence to safety standards.
Perform rebuilds and overhauls on major assemblies and related components.
Complete work order documentation for all tasks performed on the same day, maintaining accurate records.
Ensure proper housekeeping and compliance with all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) requirements within the work area always.
Artisan DPF or Motor Mechanic (to include Tractor and Diesel) with minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Ability to correctly read and interpret user manuals correctly coupled with excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
A team player with good communication skills.
