Job Description
We are looking for experienced Diesel Plant Fitter (Grade C4) to join our Engineering Team.
This position reports to the Mechanical Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform daily and routine maintenance tasks on front-end loaders, drill rigs, among other key mining equipment as instructed or specified on work orders.
• Attend to breakdowns within your area of responsibility and complete work within specified timeframes to minimize downtime.
• Competently disassemble and assemble diesel-powered equipment and machinery using technical manuals and written procedures.
• Diagnose faults in diesel engines and related systems using diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Complete work order documentation after every task performed and submit it to the supervisor on the same day.
• Ensure and enforce all housekeeping and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards within work areas at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
• 5 O' Level passes including Mathematics, English and Science
• Class One Journeyman certificate in Diesel Plant Fitting.
• National Vocational Certificate in diesel mechanics or a related field.
Experience
• At least 3 years of experience working with diesel engines, heavy machinery, and plant equipment.
Skills
• Ability to services and repair front-end loaders, drill rigs, truck among other earthmoving equipment maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with extensive knowledge of modern computer-controlled diagnostic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret user manuals accurately.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001 and 15001
