Job Description
DIESEL MECHANIC ENGINEER *2
LOCATION: HARARE
Duties and Responsibilities
● Repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, mining, plant and agricultural equipment.( trucks, loaders and excavators etc ) ensuring they are in top condition for various industry applications.
● Inspect engines, diagnose and repair faults, perform routine maintenance and dismantle and reassemble engines and other components.
● Attending to breakdowns and provide detailed support for repairs required.
● Supervise and coordinate the maintenance, servicing, and repair of plant
machinery, heavy equipment, and mobile fleet
● Perform other related duties as assigned by superiors to support the smooth operations
● Mature and self-disciplined and readiness to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
● Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory
standards
● Able to do diagnosis and trouble shooting in complex mechanical issues, showcasing problem- solving skills
● Provide technical guidance on equipment selection and modifications.
Qualifications and Experience
● A minimum of 5 years of plant and mobile fleet maintenance, preferably in a
an organisation that specializes in the mining and construction industry
● Valid driver’s licence with the ability to operate and maneuver the machines
● Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
● Proficiency in diagnosis, repairing hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
● Strong leadership, self-motivated, problem solving and communication skills.
● Class 4 Driver’s license.
