Job Description

Zimbabwe Red Cross Society operates a Clinic in Harare CBD. The clinic requires to fill a vacancy for the position of Diagnostic Radiographer. The person will be required to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging examinations using advanced technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role involves working closely with patients and healthcare professionals across various departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring positive patient identification.
• Maintenance of a clean working environment.
• Using radiographic equipment, including surgical and portable equipment to do x-rays
• Prioritising patients to complete all scheduled appointments and allow for emergency procedures
• Monitoring the radiographic equipment and supplies, organizing the daily procedure schedules for emergencies, and ensuring there are sufficient supplies by submitting purchasing request proactively.

• Handling phone calls from patients and Doctors to answer technical questions and offer pre-procedure guidance updating patients' records.
• Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation (ALARA).

Qualifications and Experience

BSc Honours in Radiography.
1 year experience working in the private sector.
Skills:
• Proficiency in operating computerized machines like MRIs and ultrasound equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate amounts of radiation to patients
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work with diverse medical professionals and patients
