To promote, foster and maintain industrial harmony between employers and employees within the Cotton Industry in order to ensure maximum productivity. The incumbent must be skilled in preventing and resolving disputes as well as writing sound rulings which demonstrate a high level of appreciation of labour law.
• Conducting periodic labour inspections to ensure compliance with the NEC Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Conciliation, ruling and arbitration of labour disputes.
• Identifying training gaps in the industry and recommending appropriate training.
• Carrying out presentations during trainings.
• Interpreting labour legislation to all stakeholders in the Cotton Industry.
• Assisting employers and employees in the formation of Workers Committees and Works Councils.
• A Social Sciences degree or equivalent from a reputable and recognized university.
• A diploma in Conciliation and Arbitration is an added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years as a Labour Officer or Designated Agent.
• Have sound knowledge of the Labour Act Chapter (28:01).
• Highly computer literate, in MS Office and related business and communication tools.
• Clean Class 4 driver’s licence a must.
