Are you passionate about HIV prevention and skilled in strategic communications?

PSI seeks a dynamic consultant to support the rollout of Lenacapavir (LEN) PrEP in Zimbabwe. This role will work closely with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC), PSI, and other implementing partners to design and implement innovative demand generation strategies and communication tools that promote uptake and continuation of LEN PrEP among key and priority populations.

Location: Zimbabwe (with potential regional support)
Duration: Short-term consultancy (6-8 months)
Travel: Up to 20% within Zimbabwe

Duties and Responsibilities

Your contributions
• Develop a national demand generation rollout plan aligned with MOHCC strategies.
• Adapt existing PrEP messaging to include LEN, incorporating community feedback.
• Co-create tailored messaging with priority populations through advisory groups and forums.
• Design multi-channel communication assets in collaboration with MOHCC and media partners.
• Adapt and deploy an AI-powered chatbot platform for HIV prevention education and PrEP support.
• Develop IEC materials, choice counselling tools, and training packages for healthcare workers and community cadres.
• Train peer educators and CBOs in demand creation and counselling.
• Link demand generation efforts to service delivery points and navigation tools.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess effectiveness of communication strategies.

Deliverables
• LEN roll out demand generation strategy and implementation plan.
• Communication materials and IEC tools (English and vernacular).
• Adapted and deployed PrEP digital communication platforms.
• Training and community engagement reports

Qualifications and Experience

What are we looking for?
• Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion, Marketing, Communications, Social Sciences, Public Health or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health communications, demand creation, or HIV prevention programming.
• Demonstrated experience working with key and priority populations with strong facilitation and community engagement skills.
• Familiarity with PrEP programming and national HIV prevention strategies.
• Proven ability to develop and implement multi-channel communication strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in marketing and brand strategy development, campaign planning and execution and stakeholder engagement including media.
• Experience with digital health tools, including chatbot platforms and mobile messaging.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills in English; proficiency in local languages is an asset.
