Reporting to the Data Manager – The Data Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data processing systems and infrastructure; Provide in-house technical expertise on data engineering to ensure the smooth implementation and maintenance of the data warehouse, successful data migration, data security and other related tasks in accordance with the Software Requirements Specification recommendations.
• Conduct source system and data quality analysis
• Manage changes and create supporting documentation for applications
• Define metrics to determine usage and effectiveness
• Develop approaches to extract metrics from data structures
• Design and build scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support effective data analysis and decision making
• Work with stakeholders, including users, MIS to support data infrastructure needs
• Assist with data-related technical issues and provide guidance on data systems
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field with at least 3 years experience in a similar position, Masters’ degree is an added advantage, Data Engineering Certification is an added advantage, Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, ETL tools, and data analysis techniques, Previous experience in data engineering including developing ETL/ELT pipelines and deploying Business Intelligence tools, Familiarity with modern data engineering tools e.g., columnar databases, DBT, medallion schemas etc ,experience in data modelling, data optimization tools and data engineering cycle, strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated effective verbal, written and technical communication, good knowledge on use of automated software development and testing tools, Good interpersonal communication skills and having high respect for confidentiality.
