Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following post:

HEALTH SERVICES DEPARTMENT

JOB TITLE: DATA CAPTURE CLERK (1 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate would be required, among other duties to:

Capture patient details using electronic system at point of first contact and/or pulling out patient folders plus refilling after use when using manual filling system.
Compile and collation of all departmental data and statistics; involving consolidating data collection tools; performance measurement and statistical reporting.
Ensure accurate completion as well as capturing of all medical aid claim forms from our patients/clients and compilation of excel summaries.
Submit and follow up of all these completed medical aid claim forms with medical aid providers.
Reconcile and follow up of claims which have been paid, rejected and those payments still pending and negotiating with the medical aid providers/patients on the payments plans.
Assist the secretary with all reception duties including filing, answering the phone, typing documents, printing and photocopying.
Confirms students/staff IDs & Medical aid cards for those requiring treatment.
Any other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Records Management or Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
5 ‘O’ levels including English Language.
An M&E or Statistics training is an added advantage.
At least 2 years work experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
Experience handling medical aid claims and use of healthcare software such as Health 263, ICD 10 coding etc. is a key added advantage.

Strong computer skills (able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work effectively in a team environment and with minimum supervision.
Able to work under pressure in the fast-paced professional working environment.
Detail-oriented, well organized, responsive and having ability to treat confidential information with due care.
