Company Overview:
A leading microfinance institution is seeking an experienced and driven Credit Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) lending and a proven track record in team leadership and credit management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the effective management of our credit portfolio, guiding the team, and supporting the growth of our SME lending operations.
Role Profile:
The Credit Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the credit department, ensuring that lending activities are conducted in line with company policies, regulations, and industry best practices. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Credit Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team, driving performance, and supporting the growth of the SME lending portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Credit Portfolio Management: Supervise the evaluation, approval, and monitoring of SME loans, ensuring they meet the institution's credit policies and risk management guidelines.
• Team Leadership: Lead, guide, and support a team of credit officers to ensure high performance and compliance with lending policies and procedures.
• Credit Risk Management: Conduct regular reviews of the credit portfolio to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Loan Processing & Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate processing of loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is collected and verified.
• Staff Development: Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring consistent application of credit policies.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key credit performance metrics, including loan approval rates, portfolio quality, and loan repayment schedules.
• Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service and loan repayment.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, and submit timely reports to management.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in SME lending, with a proven track record in credit analysis, loan underwriting, and portfolio management.
• At least 2 years of current or previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a credit-related role.
• Strong understanding of SME lending principles, credit risk management, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, report writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
