Job Description

Who We Are?
With over 20 years of experience, PSI/Zimbabwe now registered as Population Solutions for Health is looking for candidates who hold the requisite qualifications and experience to apply for the positions below.

Job exists to coordinate the “Enhancing access to COVID-19 diagnostics and therapeutics” project in Zimbabwe, in close collaboration with the MOHCC, ensuring the effective administration of COVID-19 diagnostics through various models.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your Contribution – Key Responsibilities;
• Coordinates all program activities under the UNITAID COVID-19 STAR Project, ensuring adherence to research protocols.
• Contributes to the development, design and planning of COVID-19 diagnostics administration models that can generate clear and feasible implementation options for the MOHCC.
• Provides technical input to the communications team on the development of messaging for promoting the uptake of COVID-19 testing.
• Develop capacity of New Start staff to provide support to the COVID-19 diagnostics project in line with research protocols.
• In collaboration with the Laboratory Services Manager, develops and monitors a quality assurance plan for the professional and self-administered COVID-19 testing.
• Develops training guidelines and SOPs for all channels of COVID-19 testing.
• Track and monitor project expenditure in line with the donor approved budget, under supervision of Technical director SRH.
• Oversees procurement and management of supplies and equipment for the project.
• Works with project staff to identify operational and programmatic efficiencies to reduce the unit costs of COVID-19 diagnostics interventions.
• In collaboration with the M&E department, develops systematic and realistic monitoring plans that capture quantitative and qualitative data to report on project performance indicators.
• Supports the rollout of an M&E system which allows for tracking of COVID-19 test administration through different service delivery points and linkage of COVID-19 positive individuals to appropriate services.
• Conducts routine data quality reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of project data.
• Leads the review of program performance against the project’s key performance indicators and serve as the primary writer in compilation of program reports.
• Prepares and present project progress reports at quarterly regional project meetings with other UNITAID COVID-19 implementation countries.
• Leads stakeholders engagement to ensure acceptance of project activities in all implementation locations
• Ensures responsiveness to donors, MoHCC and stakeholders on programmatic matters.
• Represent PSH in the National COVID-19 response pillars, and sub national taskforces.
• Document and tracks action points from meetings.
• Collaborates with other COVID-19 response interventions funded by the GoZ or other donors

Qualifications and Experience

What Are We Looking For?
• Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field (Laboratory Sciences, Public Health, Nursing).
• Post graduate qualification in Operations Research, Public Health or Management Health Sciences will be an added advantage.
• Experience providing or managing health interventions, including their design, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Comprehensive experience in report writing and documentation.
• Experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Clean Class 4 driver’s license and willingness to travel within Zimbabwe.
