Job Description
1. Background
A research consultancy is currently developing a comprehensive study on women’s empowerment in Zimbabwe’s Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) sector, with a focus on responsible investment models. To ensure the final outputs are polished, professional, and ready for publication, the commissioning organisation seeks the services of an experienced copy editor.
The copy editor will refine the clarity, coherence, grammar, structure, and overall readability of the research report and accompanying knowledge products, ensuring they meet high standards expected by donors, policymakers, and sector stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Purpose and Scope of the Assignment
To provide high-quality copy editing of the draft research report and related knowledge products, ensuring accuracy, consistency, readability, and alignment with the organisation’s editorial standards.
The copy editor will:
• Improve clarity, flow, and readability of the research report.
• Ensure correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
• Strengthen coherence and logical structure without altering meaning.
• Ensure consistency in terminology, formatting, and referencing.
• Align the document with gender-sensitive and inclusive language standards.
• Prepare the final report and knowledge products for publication
