COOK SOS HERMANN GMEINER PRIMARY SCHOOL MAIZELANDS

Position title: Cook
Working location: SOS Hermann Gmeiner Maizelands Primary School.
Context of the position
Established in 1949, SOS Children's Villages International (CVI) is a dynamic, international social development organization working globally to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children without parental care and those who are at the risk of losing it.
Mission of the position:
The person holding the position of Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting age-appropriate food for children and maintaining high standards in a clean, tidy, safe and pleasant environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key performance areas and main responsibilities:
• Plans and prepares nutritious menu for children
• Ensures food is properly cook and served on time
• Seves meals to children hygienically
• Maintains kitchen pantry ensuring that all ingredients are stocked
• Orders and budgets for the kitchen
• Cleans the kitchen and equipment
• Maintains high level of hygeine and cleanliness
• Interact with children and model appropriate food handling and eating etiquette.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements
• Five Ordinary level education including English is a prerequisite;
• At least 6 months cooking experience at a school, kindergarten/crèche or similar
• Team Player
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
• Ability to communicate with both adults, children and parents
