Almond Africa, Harare branch is looking for suitably qualified personnel to fill an opening within our company as a Cook.
Role:
Identifying recipes that align with the company’s dietary recommendations and budget.
Adhering to HACCP and food safety standards for all meal and beverage preparations.
Compiling ingredient order requirements for projected menus’.
Continually identifying more economical suppliers, with zero waste packaging.
Preparing and serving teas and lunches.
Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen, particularly countertops, chopping boards, cutlery and crockery.
Purchasing ingredients and other kitchen supplies.
Ensuring all food and beverages are stored according the manufacturer’s recommendations or the generally accepted recommendations of the ingredient.
Safeguarding the condition of all kitchen fixtures and fittings as well as kitchenware and advising the branch’s Maintenance Foreman of any maintenance requirements or damages as soon as these are noticed.
Supporting the cleaning of the kitchen’s refrigerator, oven, hob and water filter.
Championing a culture of perpetual food waste reduction.
Overseeing the correct segregation of food waste into a designated composting bin.
Discarding any food/beverage items that may contribute to a food borne illness.
Minimum Requirements:
“C” in ‘O’ Level Maths and English
Criminal Free Record
Age range 22 - 55
Computer literacy
A certificate or higher, attained from a Culinary School is an added advantage
Previous experience in a food preparation role is an added advantage.
Class 4 Driver’s licence
Successful candidates will be required to provide a police clearance certificate and will undergo a food handler’s medical examination.
