Job Description

An organisation that works on creating platforms for engagement on dealing with the past between transitional justice stakeholders and official transitional justice processes, is seeking the services of a consultant to draft an annual report for its transitional justice projects implemented in 2022.

The purpose of the consultancy is to produce the organisation’s 2022 Annual Report evaluating the progress made in 2022 with a focus on the successes, failures, opportunities, and challenges faced by the organisation in the period under review.

Duties and Responsibilities

It is envisioned that the consultant will:
1. Conduct a desktop research and literature review to inform the report.
2. Use information collected from the organisation’s activity reports and publications to inform the report.
3. Analyse activities implemented by the organisation in 2022 to decipher what went wrong and what went right.
4. Examine the needs and expectations of transitional justice stakeholders, victims, and survivors in 2022 vis a vis the work done by the organisation in 2022.
5. Make recommendations that the organisation may adopt to enable it to improve its contribution to the shaping and pursuing of a sustainable transitional justice agenda in Zimbabwe.

Qualifications and Experience

The suitable consultant must possess:
● A degree(s) in law, peacebuilding, human rights, transitional justice, or a related social science degree;
● Good knowledge of human rights, or transitional justice, or peacebuilding approaches to programming;
● Proven working experience in the design, management, evaluation, and documentation of development projects particularly in carrying out monitoring and evaluation for transitional justice programmes;
● Experience in theory-based evaluation or documentation preferable; and
Proven experience in research and writing in transitional justice or peacebuilding or human rights issues (publications preferable).
● Fluency in written English.
