Job Description
Background to the Consultancy
WCoZ since 1999 has been coordinating members to co-create and implement various collective humanitarian emergency responses focusing on information and communication outreach, women’s rights and gender situation analysis and research, strengthening capacities of women’s rights organisations and women from affected communities on advocacy for protection and promotion of women’s rights, resource mobilisation and contributing to aid distribution , monitoring transparency on aid distribution and provision of psychosocial, legal and gender based violence response support as well as being part of frontline responders in pursuit of advancing women and girls rights and gender equality in various humanitarian crisis situations. The coordination has been aligned to WCoZ existing structures and processes based on member interest, skill set, rapid response requirements, member organisation mandates and expertise. It is against this background that WCoZ seeks the services of a Consultant to develop a comprehensive WCoZ Humanitarian Emergency Response Policy to provide the standard operating procedures to guide how WCoZ will respond, coordinate and organise for a collective women’s rights responsive mechanism that applies any humanitarian crisis situation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Tasks under this consultancy
The consultancy will be expected to develop Humanitarian Emergency Response Policy working closely with WCoZ structures and members at chapter and national level.
Consultant tasks
It is expected that the Consultant will: Consult WCoZ members, leadership and secretariat on priority areas for the policy content; Draft policy in consultation with members and leadership of WCoZ; Submission of the draft policy to WCoZ for review and input; Facilitate validation process for final input for the policy; Submission of the final WCoZ Humanitarian Emergency Response Policy
Duration
The detailed assignment timelines will be agreed on with the successful candidate.
Bid Format
Technical and Financial proposals not exceeding 6 pages should be submitted to WCoZ including a 3 paged resume; A sample of similar work done previously should be submitted.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, Experience, and a sample of work
Advanced degree in Social Science or related field with experience in policy development to respond to emergency humanitarian rapid response; More than 5 Years’ experience in related work
