Job Description

Job Title: Guide on integrating ASRH in RMNCAH On the Job Training (OJT) Opportunities in Zimbabwe Development Consultant
Reports to: Director Family Health, Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC)

The 2012 Zimbabwe Population Census shows that the country has a young population with a third being between the ages of 10-24 years (adolescents and youth). In 2016, the MoHCC facilitated the adaptation of the global standards on provision of quality adolescent health services in Zimbabwe. The standards have since been rolled out to 24 districts. One of the key entry points to provision of quality adolescent health services relates strengthening the capacity of health facility staff, facility wide (including ancillary & support staff), both in pre and in-service settings. In 2019, the Ministry developed an Adolescent & Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) teaching guide for the pre-service training of nurses and midwives as part of strengthening the capacity of health facilities in providing quality adolescent health services. Currently, there are various Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) health OJT opportunities that exist in-service, which can provide a good entry point for integrating ASRH. Therefore, there is need to develop a guide to help standardize integration of ASRH in in-service training opportunities. Services of a consultant are therefore required to develop a guide on integrating Adolescent & Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) RMNCA Health OJT opportunities in Zimbabwe. The exercise is expected to be completed by the 30th of September 2020.
