Welthungerhilfe is one of the largest, privately-held, non-denominational and politically independent German non-governmental organizations in the area of development co-operation and emergency relief. Primarily in co-operation with local partner organizations, its task is to contribute to improved income and nutrition for the poorest rural populations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Welthungerhilfe has been implementing projects in Zimbabwe almost continuously since 1980. Currently the organization together with its partners has projects in 5 Provinces. Sector focus is on Food and Nutrition security including WASH, and when necessary Emergency response.
WHH together with ICRISAT, CTDO and SAT are implementing a project entitled “Zimbabwe Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems” which is funded by the European Union under the Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme”. Part of this project involves addressing communication challenges between agriculture stakeholders in Zimbabwe. One of the strategic arms of this project is Extension and one key deliverable is to improve the Inservice training for public extension staff.
Position summary
Welthungerhilfe is seeking a consultant to assist with installations of key digital solutions, content management systems etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primarily in cooperation with local partner organisations, its task is to contribute to improved income and nutrition for the poorest rural populations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Welthungerhilfe has been implementing projects in Zimbabwe almost continuously since 1980. Currently the organisation together with its partners has projects in 5 Provinces. Sector focus is on Food and Nutrition security including WASH, and when necessary Emergency response.
WHH together with ICRISAT, CTDO and SAT are implementing a project entitled “Zimbabwe Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems” which is funded by the European Union under the Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme”. Part of this project involves contributing towards the delivery of digitalised extension services to farmers and building the digital capacities of key stakeholders such as government. One of the strategic arms of this project is Extension and one key deliverable is to improve the Inservice training for public extension staff and farmer digital services through the creation of platforms and systems. As such, the project seeks to procure short term consultancies to provide technical support for the digital tools
Subject of the consultancy
The consultant will undertake to provide the assigned technical duties which include but are not limited to: Managing installations of key digital solutions on all assigned access platforms; Testing developed products and developing bug reports that will be submitted to the ICT4Agriculture lead; Contributing towards key content editing via the content management system; Contributing to development of a youth ICT4Ag awareness roll out out plan.

Qualifications and Experience

Desired Skills and Qualifications
A university degree in Computer science, IT, Agriculture or Agricultural economics of not more than 2 years post graduation; A demonstrated passion in digital technologies and agriculture; Should not be more than 27 years of age.
