The confectioner is responsible for day-to-day tactical operations of the bakery department. The job includes planning, organizing, leading, controlling, communicating and monitoring the bakery activities, ensuring that the customers buy the bakery products of the best quality, at the right time, with right prices and in right quantities ensuring maximization of sales.
• Preparing, maintaining, and cleaning all equipment
• Monitoring baking and cooking processess
• Monitoring stock levels and submitting purchase orders
• Packaging confections
• Providing feedback on new products or recipe improvements
• Suggesting positive change to enhance sales
• Ensure that visual merchandising standards are achieved and that all products are displayed in accordance with company requirement
• Managing and properly recording of wastage production, and department transfers.
• Ensuring that there is compliance to prescribed recipes and standards
Certificate from a reputable culinary school.
A minimum of 1-year proven experience as a Confectioner
Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently
Quick to learn tasks
Ready to work on shifts
