Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and self-driven individual to join a diversified conglomerate as a Compliance Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintaining a high level of ethical standards. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and guidance to employees and management. The Compliance Officer will also be responsible for representing the company in interactions with regulatory authorities and maintaining accurate records of compliance activities and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the organization is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing public finance, including reporting requirements, procurement processes, and data protection regulations
• Develop, implement and maintain the company's compliance program to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Monitor changes in regulations and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
• Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and ensure timely and effective communication and reporting.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Human Resources, and Operations, to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Develop and deliver training programs for employees on compliance-related topics, and promote a culture of compliance within the organization
• Investigate and respond to compliance-related complaints and inquiries.
• Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities and reporting
• Participate in internal and external audits and assessments as needed.
• Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards, including but not limited to anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy, and environmental regulations.
• Ensure that all risk decisions follow the internal policies for approval.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Group Compliance & Operations Manager

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal person must possess the following:
 Degree in Fiscal Studies, Business Studies, Risk Management, Accounting, Auditing, , Finance or Economics or equivalent from a reputable university.
 Professional qualification e.g., CIA, CRMA, CISA, Risk Management Certificate
 At least 4 years’ experience at the middle management level in a regulatory environment
