Job Description
Unicef is looking for a Communication Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
Communication materials
Ensure that production of communication products and materials are timely executed and followed up to support country emergency related communication activities, regional and global campaigns and priorities, donor visibility and to support resource mobilization as set out in the work plan and demand from sections.
Support to Risk Communications and Community Engagement (RCCE) campaigns and activities:
Particularly during the COVID-19 emergency response support is given to the RCCE pillar and the associated activities and materials produced by UNICEF
Monitoring & Evaluation
Regular monitoring and evaluation activities are undertaken according to the work plan to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of communication efforts.
Ensure results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication for Development
Work Experience:
Two years practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, interactive digital media, or communications for development
Field work experience in Zimbabwe or the region
Background/familiarity with Emergency situations
Language Proficiency
Fluency in English
Knowledge of one of the local language of the duty station is an asset
