VACANCY: Clinical Instructor/ Sister-In-Charge X 1 Post: School Of Nursing: Mpilo Central Hospital
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced members who are eligible tor promotion to the above mentioned vacant post in terms of the Appointment, Performance Advancement, Regrading, Transfer, Promotion and Training Procedures for Registered General Nurses in the Health Service.
REPORTS TO: Principal Tutor
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participates in clinical and classroom teaching of student nurses.
2. Participates in setting and marking examinations, case studies and assignments.
3. Accompanies students on educational visits.
4. Participates in invigilating tests and examinations
5. Attends departmental and institutional meetings as required.
6. Participates in graduation ceremony arrangements.
7. Prepares and issues procedure manuals and handouts to students,
8. Organizes and conducts practical assessments.
9. Follows up students in the clinical area.
10. Counsels students with learning and social problems and refers to Principal Tutor where necessary.
I l . Participates in in-service courses when required.
12 Ensures maintenance of professional appearance and conduct by students.
1 3. Maintains equipment and supplies in demonstration room.
14. Ensures a safe working environment at all times.
15. Ensures that infection prevention and control guidelines are implemented.
Qualifications and Experience
1 . Degree/ Diploma in General Nursing.
2. A post basic qualification in nursing or midwifery.
3. At least 2 years' experience as a Senior Registered General Nurse.
4. Applicants should be registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe and in possession of a valid practising certificate.
