Job Description

The Famine Early Warning Systems Network 8 Decision Support (FEWS NET 8 DS) project is a five-year, United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded program that seeks to to deliver timely, evidence-based, neutral, and cross-nationally comparable analysis on the drivers, scale, severity, and consequences of food insecurity to drive decision-making at international, national, and local levels. To maintain a conducive working environment, the FEWS NET 8 DS project requires a cleaner, engaged on an as-needed basis, to ensure that the project office remains consistently clean and orderly

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning the floors, walls, windows, office furniture, restrooms, kitchen, plates, and offices
• Ensuring that office supplies such as water, teas, toilet paper, sanitizers etc are adequate and in place every time
• Provides tea/refreshments to staff and visitors when necessary.
• Ensuring that all windows are locked at the end of each day
• Any other duties as may be delegated by the Regional Office Manager

Qualifications and Experience

• Years of experience: Minimum two years of relevant cleaning or maintenance experience in an office or professional setting.
• Technical certifications: Relevant cleaning or sanitation certifications preferred but not required.
• Education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Language qualifications: Basic proficiency in English required.
• Experience: Proven experience as an independent cleaner or maintenance professional.
• Organizational skills: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace.
• Dependability: Strong track record of reliability, punctuality, and adherence to schedules and standards.
• Communication skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with office staff and supervisors.
• Other qualifications: Ability to follow standard cleaning procedures and instructions, with minimal supervision.
• Computer skills: Basic knowledge of MS Office applications preferred for completing time records and reports.
• Physical requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods as required for the role.
