Job Description

Civil Engineering Technician (Grade 9)

Reports to the District Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities


Key result areas
• Carrying out surveys for new works and supervision for the construction of these works using either in house labour or contractors.
• Assisting the District Engineer with Designing and constructing road infrastructure such as bridges.
• Facilitating the procurement of project materials.
• Implementing all civil works projects.
• Maintaining council's water and sewer reticulation systems.
• Assisting the District Engineer with Preparing committee budgets and monitoring their implementation.
• Any other duties assigned by the District Engineer.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Attributes
• Minimum Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Computer literate with experience in Auto CAD.
• A clearance from the ZRP
• A clean Class 4 driver's license.
