East West Management Institute Inc. (EWMI), implementing the Citizen Engagement for Accountability
Activity in Zimbabwe (CEAA), with local implementing partners, invites applications from Zimbabwean nationals for the following long-term position. The assignment is expected to start on or around November 18, 2024.
Citizenship Engagement and Partnership (CEP) Specialist
Overall Responsibilities
The Citizen Engagement and Partnership Specialist (CEPS) is responsible for supporting the implementation of citizen engagement and partnerships activities under Objective One; and assists in the supervision and providing technical advisory and project management assistance to key implementing partners. Through knowledge of the Zimbabwean context and citizen participation, the CEPS assists in the
identification of innovative ways of engaging Zimbabwe citizens of diverse backgrounds and ensuring their positive participation within CEAA.
Required qualifications
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience and knowledge of Citizen Engagement, Governance and
Democracy programming, at least three (3) of which were with USAID funded programs.
• Advanced University graduate degree in Political Science, International development, International
Relations, Public Administration or Law.
• A qualification in Project Management and or Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage.
• Technical knowledge and demonstrated expertise in project design, project implementation and
management, coordination of USAID funded Citizen Engagement, Accountability, Governance and
Democracy programs, team leadership and management, budget management and oversight, project
evaluation and design and political sensitivity.
• Knowledge of USAID rules, regulations and systems pertaining to strategic analysis, budgeting,
planning and implementation, project design, monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage.
• Proven capacity to work in complex settings with diverse stakeholders.
• Capacity to think strategically, analyze complex situations and provide technical guidance and recommendations.
• Excellent research, writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, with minimum supervision.
• Ability to deliver high quality work and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, technical and analytic skills, leadership and communication
skills; high levels of ethics and integrity. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
