Child Protection Case Management Regional Coordinator (Central Region - Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland Provinces): World Education Inc. / Bantwana (WEI/B)

Background
World Education Inc. / Bantwana (WEI/B) is an international non-governmental organization with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful interventions for vulnerable children and youth in Zimbabwe with community-based models of service provision in health, education, child protection and economic strengthening. WEI/B works in close consultation with national stakeholders, including the Department of Social Welfare (DSW), the multi-sectoral OVC Working Party of Officials, and other key ministries. To that end World Education Inc. / Bantwana is recruiting to fill the following position:
Purpose of the position
The Child Protection Case Management Regional Coordinators will provide technical support to the Department of Social Development (DSD) Child Protection Services Section Provincial and District levels. They will be responsible for technical support to the department's subnational structures in case management implementation in the Central Region hub to ensure timely delivery of programme activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and support to the development and rollout of Violence against Children (VAC) prevention and response initiatives; Support provinces to implement performance management and accountability systems in delivering quality case management; Track recommendations from district technical capacity assessments and support the Department of Social Development (Child Protection Services Section) to come up with systematic plans to plug identified gaps; Support Provinces and Districts to conduct monthly trend and caseload analyses and come up with district-specific interventions; Support the DSD subnational level structures to roll out the Management Information System; Mentor and coach social work graduate interns and track their performance; Come up with innovative approaches and sound technical recommendations for enhancing the National Case Management System; Ensure that child protection interventions are informed by and integrated with other core sectors, including and ensuring that issues for child protection are raised and addressed; Network and represent WEI at various child protection forums/stakeholders’ meetings; Maintain good relations with the DSD district staff and other related partners in the project.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, experience and key competencies required
First degree in Social Work; An advanced degree is an added advantage and Registration with CSW is a must; 5 years of progressive social work professional experience, 2 of which must be at middle management level; Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience in statutory social work/working with the Department of Social Development and supervision of professional social workers is a must; Proven experience in the design, implementation and management of child protection programs at subnational levels and experience in working with different stakeholders, including experience in leading coordination efforts; Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills; Strong writing skills; Proven ability to develop and maintain partnerships with government and knowledge of capacity building initiatives and skills transfer to government social workers; Ability to represent the organization at different levels; Talented, critical thinkers and innovators who are able to work independently, take initiative and leadership.
