Post: Chief Technician (1 post).

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Offer leadership and Management of Laboratory services and technical support to learning, teaching, research and innovation.
Development of lab policies, strategies and new lab test procedures
Supervise overall planning of laboratory programmes, carry out induction and performance reviews of technicians, ensuring that appropriate training is given as necessary
Upgrading of laboratory technologies, techniques, skills and protocols whenever required as well maintain and repair equipment
Prepare annual progress of the laboratory and implement laboratory safety and quality control.
Maintain laboratory inventory and coordinate purchasing of all laboratory supplies and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

B-Tech / BSc Honours Degree or an equivalent in the relevant field plus
Five (5) years of laboratory experience in a tertiary institution, research institute or relevant industry.

Or Higher National Diploma plus seven (7) years relevant experience.
