CHIEF SURVEYOR
Department: Survey / Technical Services
Location: Sabi Gold Mine - Zvishavane
Reports To: Technical Services Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the role of Chief Surveyor. The successful candidate will lead mine surveying functions, ensuring accurate measurement, mapping, reporting, and compliance with operational and statutory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all mine survey activities and manage the survey team
Prepare and maintain accurate mine plans, layouts, and survey records
* Conduct volume calculations, pit measurements, and production reconciliations
* Support mine planning, grade control, and operational decision-making
Ensure compliance with statutory survey requirements
Qualifications and Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, or Surveying, professional registration or certification is an added advantage, and strong knowledge of modern survey software and instruments.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in mine surveying. previous experience in a senior or supervisory survey role is preferred.
* Manage survey equipment, data systems, and reporting standards
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
* High attention to detail and strong analytical ability, proficiency in mine planning and survey software, strong leadership and reporting skills, and ability to work effectively in a technical mine-site environment.
