Job Description

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified persons to fill in a vacancy that have arisen in the Group.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the company working capital through efficient deployment of financial resources as per plan.
• Ensures timeous production of company financial statements, monthly management reports, ExCom reports, board reports and audited accounts.
• Responsible for product costing ensuring correct product pricing.
• Responsible for liaison with internal and external auditors.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of company wide standard operating procedures.
• Ensures accurate and timely cash forecasting.
• Monitors daily accumulation and reports on the performance.
• Recommends budgetary assumptions and parameters for approval by the Executives.
• Plans and co-ordinates the annual audit including preparation of audit files and schedules.
• Reviews company tax computations and ensures timeous submission of returns and payments i.e. VAT, Income tax, PAYE and QPD’s.
• Implements and executes robust systems of controlling receivables and payables.
• Monitors and checks the quality of reports generated for Management and external stakeholders.
• Ensures financial reports are compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Reviews financial policies and procedures and implements on Executives approval.
• Undertakes and reports on special projects as agreed with the Executives.
• Recommends budgetary assumptions and parameters for approval by the Executives.
• Translates departmental strategies into financial information and monitors performance.
• Coordinates cost reviews and variance analysis and investigations.
• Responsible for cost control and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Measures performance for profitability.
• Reviews capital expenditure proposals for viability.
• Drives the performance of the finance team through training, mentorship, goal, and target setting and leadership provision.
• Recruits, supervises, and motivate staff and carry out performance appraisals for subordinates.
• Attends to audit queries and provision of management responses and actions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Business Finance, ACCA, CIMA, CIS, CA or any equivalent qualification.
• 6 years’ experience in the accounting field preferably with articles.
• 4 years in doing management accounts.
• Highly experienced in statutory returns (VAT, QPDs and Withholding tax & PAYE).
• Familiar with Pinnacle, Pastel Accounting Package, Excel and Word, and Palladium.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
