Job Description

The University of Zimbabwe is inviting suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following positions that have arisen at the University of Zimbabwe.

CENTRAL RECORDS CLERKS (5 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to:

* Ensure compliance with relevant records and information management regulations and standards.
* Ensure accessibility and retrieval of records and information just in time.
* Implement standard operating procedures for the records management programme.
* Implement records retention policy for the records management programme.
* Apply the function-based classification scheme.
* Update and review the file index and file plan.
* Apply metadata standards for electronic records management.
* Identify and advise on risks that may affect the records management programme.
* Attend to general queries from staff, students and visitors.
* Conduct regular file audits to ensure preservation of institutional memory.
* Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience

The position requires an individual with:

* At least 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language (Grade C or better).
* A Certificate or Diploma in Records Management with at least 2 years of relevant experience in records management.
* Higher National Diploma as an added advantage.
* Knowledge of the records continuum.
* Knowledge of Electronic Document and Record Management Systems (EDRMS) and filing procedures.
* Ability to safeguard confidentiality and sensitive information.
