Job Description
Fairbanks Corporate is looking for an experienced and reliable Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for supervising till operators, handling customer transactions, and balancing the cash registers at the end of each day.
As a Cashier, you will be responsible for supervising the processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using touch screen point of sale systems like iVend Retail by Till operators and also responding to their queries.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Supervise and train till operators
-Training new cashiers on policies, procedures, and best practices.
-Handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently
-Ensure cash registers are balanced at the end of each day
-Assist with inventory management
-Maintain clean and organized checkout areas
-Ensure that all checkout stations are properly staffed and functioning smoothly.
-Responsible for processing high-value transactions
-Responsible for managing large amounts of cash.
-Handle refunds, returns, and exchanges.
-Providing assistance with transactions, answering questions, and resolving issues.
-Preparing daily or weekly reports on cash flow, sales activity
-Ensuring the security of the cash register and all financial transactions, including monitoring for fraud or theft.
Qualifications and Experience
-At least 2 Advanced Levels minimum
-Minimum of 2 years of cashiering experience in a retail or supermarket setting
-Experience in Point of Sale systems like iVend
-Strong mathematical and computer skills
-Excellent customer service skills
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-Attention to detail and accuracy
-Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
